Hair Drying steps

Drying is not only a technique for removing water from hair, but also a method of styling.
If possible, allow hair to dry naturally. Sometimes it may be impossible to find time to allow hair to dry naturally, so the electric hair dryer is used.
Since the hair is made up of protein, it is possible to denature it with excessive heat. Thus, certain precautions should be followed to prevent unnecessary hair damage.

Precautions while using electric hair dryer:

Don't blow-dry hair when it is dripping wet! Only use the dryer on damp, towel-dried hair.
While the hair is still damp, gently loosen out any tangles using a brush or a wide-toothed comb. Comb in downward strokes, starting near the tips and working your way upward towards the roots. This will help to keep the hair from splitting and breaking.
Use the dryer cautiously, on the lowest speed and the lowest heat setting.
While using blow dryer dry the roots first.
Always try and use the dryer downwards because using it upwards can cause frizzy hair.
Keep the dryer moving constantly over your whole head. Don't concentrate the heat in one spot, as this can dry out the moisture from your hair and even damage it permanently.
Always switch off the dryer before your hair is completely dry.

Accessories used with the hair dryer:

1. Extra wide or wide-toothed comb: to gently loosen out any tangles to keep the hair from splitting and breaking.
2. Round brushes: can be used to curl the hair during the drying process or the hair can be pulled straight, if desired.
3. Hair styling products: that are suitable to be used with hair dryers like mousses, serums and oil pressing formulas which improve both control and the look of the final result.
4. Hair sprays: to be used after finishing hair styling.
